Critical Information

  • 88-151 MILLION gallons of toxic oil has spilled into the Gulf as well as massive amounts of deadly Benzene & Hyrdrogen Sulfide.
  • 1.4 MILLION gallons of toxic Corexit dispersant has been dumped into the Gulf waters.
  • Best case scenario: the spill is stopped by AUGUST 2010. Worst case scenario: the spill cannot be stopped for YEARS.
  • VAST amounts of sea life,coastlines and industries are being destroyed right now by the slick
  • This oil is predicted to be CARRIED BY THE LOOP CURENT around the tip of Florida and up most of the east coastline then into the Atlantic

How To Submit Spill Innovations


The United States Coast Guard Research and Development Center (USCG RDC) issued Broad Agency Announcement (BAA) HSCG32-10-R-R00019 for the purpose of organizing the collection of — and enhancing the Deepwater Horizon Response Team assessment of — technology assistance offers in five technology gap areas: Oil Sensing Improvements to Response and Detection, Oil Wellhead Control and Submerged Oil Response, Traditional Oil Spill Response Technologies, Alternative Oil Spill Response Technologies, Oil Spill Damage Assessment and Restoration. Follow the instructions outlined in the BAA for submitting White Papers (written description of the idea) to the USCG RDC.
